Instructors and Directors

Jill Blalock Lord (Masterclass,Triple Threat Instructor and Director) is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Ohlook Performing Arts. She is the lead director of the Production Classes and all 4 Masterclasses. She has a BA in Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University. After making her professional Opera debut while still in college, she was chosen to be a part of the acclaimed Merola Program of San Francisco Opera where she spent 2 seasons touring across the country. After many operas and musicals in many countries, Jill and her husband Matthew Lord (creator and star of The 3 Redneck Tenors) started Ohlook as a way to help train the next generation of artist, including their 2 daughters.

Since starting Ohlook they have produced over 200 productions, the majority of which have had Ms. Lord as the lead director. In the past  she has directed 2 shows to the AACT National Level, winning with Dog Sees God at the National competition in 2011 and International competition in 2012 and named Best Director at both. Many of her students are now making their way in the business, on Broadway, National Tours and television.

Heather Biddle (Masterclass) is celebrating her 6th year at Ohlook this year and looking forward to a great time. She is the head theater director for JJ Pearce High School in Richardson Texas and mommy to two amazing girls Brooklyn, a student at Ohlook and Kennedy a future student. Favorite directing credits include Sweeney Todd, Bat Boy, Phantom of the Opera, Secret Garden, Songs for a New World and The Sparrow. Favorite Ohlook memory will always be "Dog sees God". 

Taylor Wallis (Director, Productions) is very excited to be teaching at Ohlook! She recently graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL with a B.A. in Theatre. At Millikin she was seen in a reading of the new musical Golden Gate, by Michael Kooman & Chris Dimond, along with several other productions.

Some of Taylor's favorite credits at Ohlook include Little Women (Jo), Beauty and the Beast (Belle), and The Secret Garden (Martha). She also played Marcy in Ohlook's producion of Dog Sees God that won the National AACT Festival in 2011.


Madi Bready (Acting, Make a Movie) Madi is a long-time Ohlookian who began acting on the Ohlook stage when she was 9 years old. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2018 with a BFA in Drama with an Acting emphasis. Madi is represented by talent agents in both Texas and Oklahoma and has worked professionally on stage, in film and television, behind the scenes, and as a private acting coach. She has won several awards and been to film festivals with her short film, More Tomorrow, which she wrote, directed, and produced. Madi is so excited to be teaching at Ohlook where her whole journey began almost 15 years ago!

Madi Bates (Musical Jam, Act It Out, Broadway & Disney Hit the Stage, Broadway Premiere) Madi Bates’ love of the arts started at a very young age and her training started early.  Over the years, some of her favorite roles include Mary Tilford in The Children’s Hour, Ariel in The Little Mermaid Jr, and Toffee in Zombie Prom. She attended high school at Booker T. Washington Arts Magnet where she was a member of their Mime Troupe along with being a part of SKOKOS, their advanced acting program (working in conjunction with the Dallas Theater Center).  She recently earned her BFA in acting at the University of Oklahoma.  She has professional unarmed combat training. Along with being an actor, she is a singer-songwriter, has performed at various venues and works with Brett Manning in Nashville.  During her downtime, she enjoys flying trapeze (secretly wants to join the circus) and writing songs.  Madi is a native to Dallas and happy to be back in the area working in the industry. 

Emmalyn Miron (Tap 1/2, Teen & Adult) holds her BA in Music Theatre and Acting/Directing and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  She has performed with the National Broadway Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cotton Patch Gospel, which toured Ireland, The Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, Shakespeare Dallas, MBS Productions and Theatre Britain. She was also a member of the cast of the Jekyll & Hyde Club, Dallas, and Chorvettes Stageworks Company: Goodwill Ambassadors for Oklahoma. 

Emmalyn was Director of Enrichment and taught theatre at Coram Deo Academy for 8 years and is a prizewinner Irish Dancer. She is so excited to be coming back to OhLook this semester!
